[Posteo](https://posteo.de/en) is a German e-mail service provider launched in 2009. They advertise a no-bullshit, green and private service. Pros: - Really cheap. - Easy registration. - Nice interface. - More optional themes available in settings. - No ads at all. - Proper licensing [on website](https://posteo.de/js-licenses.html). - Goodies on top of the e-mail account. - Calendars (up to 3 for free, then `0.1€` a month). - E-mail aliases (up to 2 for free, then `0.1€` a month). - Migration service for existing accounts. - E-mail collector feature which will bridge your old e-mail for three months to ease the migration. Cons: - Custom domains not available. - Though not a dealbreaker for me. So far, using Posteo has been a breeze. Considering how cheap the service is, I'm amazed at the offering. I have the e-mails, contact book and calendar all synced to my Thunderbird installation on my main computer. For sending and receiving, I'm still relying heavily on Iki, which is my permanent alias; but as a service, Posteo definitely does the job.
